Tennessee Entertainment Commission Boosts Creative Economy in 2024

From blockbuster productions to groundbreaking workforce development, the Tennessee Entertainment Commission (TEC) played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s creative economy in 2024.

Over the past year, TEC assisted 223 film, TV, music video, and commercial projects across 42 counties, resulting in a $147 million direct impact and over 3,600 production jobs. The Commission also awarded $5.9 million in grants supporting music- and entertainment-related digital skills, education, and workforce development through the DESEW program.

Key highlights from the year include:

  • Governor Lee’s signing of the ELVIS Act

  • The launch of the Northeast Tennessee Music Initiative

  • The recruitment of Rock Nashville and the Nashville Scoring Stage, two projects bringing 600+ new jobs and $300 million in capital investment

These achievements reflect TEC’s continued commitment to elevating Tennessee as a premier destination for creative professionals and businesses.
